CHAPTER 1
PROBLEM
STATEMENT
Students
nowadays are being widely expose to such a plenty technology advancement,
especially gadget. From infant, early 1
year child somehow or rather, could pay attention or at least stare at the
gadget if they see or heard any virtual movement or educational games played by
their parents. There are a lot, uncountable of course, updated gadget in market
pop up so fast, without cares about the country economic crisis, or political
issues arise at that time. The inventor
of any modern gadget brand such as Samsung, Sony, Apple, Mac and many more
seems to be so crucial in making profit without think of the effect of
producing too much stuff in the market, to the people, especially for kids.
Why
should we considering the effect to the kids?
They will be close monitor by their parents, isn’t?
Statistic
shown that kids in primary school is having several problem due to less
supervision in playing games, downloading movies, installation of apps that
regards to the technology enhancement.
For example, if the parents brought a Samsung Note Tab 8.0 and they
downloaded games, it will attract the children of course and they will tend to
play the games for hours. The parent’s
maybe doesn’t care so much, as long as their kids get quite, not running around
and begging for toys, it should be good enough for them. But they is actually get trapped into another
problem in future whereby the children will having difficulties like lack of
attention in class, low self-esteem/self-intimidated, lost the relationship
with parents and siblings, lack of social interaction/relationship, tendency to
have book in hand and not doing homework and many more. Furthermore, it is a serious matter when it
comes to the kid’s health. Too long
spending time playing games may affect them physically for instance eye
irritation, obesity, spine problem and as for the mental part, their mind will
become weak because of less sport activities like a normal kids.
RESEARCH
OBJECTIVES
1- To
identify the Impact of Technology Enhancement towards Primary School Student
learning behavior.
2- To
determine the significant impact between Technology Enhancement and the Primary
School Student learning behavior.

QUESTIONS
1- How
does Technology Enhancement may affect the Primary School Student learning
behavior in Sekolah Kebangsaan Pusat Bandar Puchong 2, Selangor.
2- Is
there any significant impact between Technology Enhancement and Primary School
Student learning behavior in Sekolah Kebangsaan Pusat Bandar Puchong 2,
Selangor.
SIGNIFICANCE
OF STUDY
School
From
this study, several types of reasons was identified and the researcher able to
determine the impact of Technology Enhancement towards Primary School Student
learning behavior. By right, the school
should put extra cautious and aware about the Technology Enhancement nowadays
and try to overcome the negatives’ that appear from the advancement of gadget
in the market.
Teachers
The
findings contributed a short hypothesis to the teachers and indirectly this
study would be the ‘alarm system’ for the teacher to be aware of Technology
Enhancement that seems non-stop of production and give extra attention towards
Primary School Student learning behavior.
Despite to maintain the good behavior and performance of Primary School
Student in class teachers should upgrade their knowledge about technology
especially on the latest gadget so that the teachers will not left behind.
Future
researcher
The
findings of the research would absolutely be beneficial to the future
researcher regarding the Impact of Technology Enhancement towards Primary
School Student learning behavior. From
the substance of the research, future researchers may expand the view and the
interpretation of the research to become more significant.
LIMITATIONS
OF THE STUDY
Variables
This
study was conduct on selected variables that contribute to the impact on
Technology Enhancement towards Primary School Student learning behavior.
Place
In
this study, the event took place is in the school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pusat
Bandar Puchong 2, Selangor.
OPERATIONAL
DEFINITION
1- 1- Technology enhancement
Technology
enhancement in general, is the application of practical sciences to industry or
commerce and thus practices governing such application. Despite that, technology can be the total
knowledge and skills available to any human society for industry, art, and science. Technology (from Greek meaning) is an
"art, skill, cunning of hand is the making, modification, usage, and
knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of
organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a pre-existing solution to a
problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input/output relation or perform a
specific function.
2- 2- Primary school student
A
student is a learner, or someone who attends an educational institution. According to Wikipedia, student is who is
enrolled or attends classes at a school, college or university. On the other hand, student is who studies something
or an attentive observer.
Primary
school student refers to the schoolchild under the age of eighteen (usually
from 7 to 12 years old) is called a pupil.
In Malaysia, usually this primary school student is in standard 1 to
standard 6 and they are place in Sekolah Kebangsaan. However, in the widest use, student is used
for anyone who is learning, including mid-career adults who are taking
vocational education or returning to university.
3- 3- Learning process
Learning
is an essential as well as fundamental process of life. It is a process by which the individual
obtains various habits, knowledge, skills and attitudes that are necessary to
meet the demands of life. Crow and Crow
(1990) defined learning as the acquisition of habits, knowledge and attitude. Human
learning may occur as part of education, personal development, schooling, or
training. It may be goal-oriented and may be aided by motivation. Human life is
thus a continuous process of learning.
Kimble
(2001) has similarly said, learning refers to a more or less permanent change
in behavior which occurs as a result of practice. And according to Mc Connel (1983) learning is
the modification of behavior through experience.
